Nikola Kyosev - flute

Nikola is the founder of Sound Collective Scotland.

He loves and performs on all types of flutes and combines his passion for performing with teaching woodwind instruments in three different councils across Scotland. In the moments when he is not involved with music he enjoys working on other crafty things, especially if they are related to boats or books.

Silviya Mihaylova - piano

Silviya is a lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, accompanist for the Glasgow Philharmonic Male Voice choir and a member of  Live Music Now! Scotland. She is a former visiting teacher of the Mehli Mehta Music foundation in Mumbai, India and has studied with Fali Pavri (RCS) and Rositza Ivancheva (NUMTI).

Rebecca Whitener - clarinet

Rebecca enjoys a busy schedule of freelancing with the Scottish Orchestras, performing chamber music, and teaching, conducting and coaching the next generation of musicians. In her spare time, Rebecca can be found running around the South side with her two dogs, Jaxx and Skye!

Edward Lucas - double bass

Edward is living a busy life as a freelance musician and a teacher.  Considered to be one of the tallest bass players in the UK, he is truly a sight to behold, but more importantly a sound that must be heard!

Patrick Nolan - percussions

Patrick's musical journey began in Ireland and after realizing that making music was his main goal, he began to showcase his talent. He graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and since then he can be heard playing in many different venues all across the U.K.

Gillian Horn - bassoon

Born and raised in Glasgow, Gillian Horn studied bassoon at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has since been enjoying the exciting and varied freelance life!

An especially keen chamber musician, Gillian is a founding member of the Genovia Quartet -  an all female bassoon quartet formed in 2015. She has also worked extensively with woodwind group Sirocco Winds since 2016.

Gillian loves cartoons and all things colourful!

Georgi Boev - horn

Georgi enjoys performing, teaching and composing music of all styles. He began playing piano at the age of three and a decade later moved on to french horn followed by obtaining degrees in solo and orchestral performance from the Royal Northern College of Music. His experience in chamber and orchestral musical performances worldwide is in no way helpful towards his competitive online gaming career.

Clara Lafuente Garcia - oboe

Clara finished her Master’s degree (2017) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and have since then been a freelance player with many of the Scottish orchestras. During her years at the RCS, she won the Governor’s recital prize for Woodwind on Cor Anglais, and performed as a soloist with orchestra the Strauss oboe concerto and the Macmillan Cor anglais concerto “The World’s Ransoming”.

Clara is part of Live Music Now with Turquoise Duo. Apart from performing, Clara is an active teacher at Renfrewshire Council, St Aloysius, Stewart’s Melville College in Edinburgh and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Outside of music Clara enjoys reading, nature and procrasti-baking.
